History

Established in 1951.
A young Harold Macomber started this electrician business while still working as an electrical draftsman for General Electric Company. The first business address was at the corner of Washington and Darling Streets in Marblehead. Soon after, in 1959, business expanded to 6 School Street where the appliance store was opened and technicians were added to perform Appliance Repair Services. Along with stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, radios, black & white TV's, mixers ,and toasters; there arrived new appliances like, dishwashers, color TV's, food-waste disposers, microwave ovens and a growing variety of small appliances. Macomber later included custom kitchen cabinetry, which became a very popular way to modernize the family kitchen. When the Village Plaza Shopping Center was built, Macomber promptly relocated there and stayed through 1977. The Macomber family has continued to provide trusted Electricial and Appliance Services for 60 years, and three family generations.
